The 6.8 SPC Xtreme is a complete AR-15
upper build that is a collaboration with
ARPerformance. Together we have done some of the most extensive testing and development of the6.8 SPC cartridge for use in the AR-15 weapon
system and other gas operated rifles. Thru this extensive testing we have developed unique chamber and bore specs that
maximize the performance of the 6.8 SPC and allow its full potential to be realized in the AR-15. As the 6.8 SPC cartridge
is the ultimate combat cartridge for the AR-15 we felt the AR-15 chambered for it needed to also be built to the level of
what a Real AR-15 Combat Upper should be. This means a rifle that is a balance of reliability and accuracy. To
do this corners can not be cut during the fitting and assembly process as well as the quality of the parts used. The
other improtant goal was to make it at a price that was affordable. We felt that all of these thing could be attained. The
reason for the name Xtreme is as we went thru this process comparing to what was normally considered "to spec" then
compared it to what was Our "Spec" It quickly became obvious that what we were doing and at the price point
we had set was well extreme. Hence the name Xtreme.
The 6.8 SPC Xtreme is the product
of this project: Each and every part was picked specifically to meet these goals. To meet the price point we had set
with the goal of making it as affordable as possible options are limited as we want our focus to be on building a high quality
upper not on being a parts warehouse.
Many extra steps are taken in the building
of the Xtreme that are not only not done but in all likely hood not even known of or the reasons for by other AR-15 manufactures.
In fact some of the extra steps we take it ensure reliability and consistent accuracy are only done by a very small and select
few high-end custom shops.
